Love and Deception in the Barrack

Synopsis

Ruan Tangmian, a peasant girl, becomes entangled with Emperor Duan Ce, who is leading a military campaign personally, after an accident. After giving birth to their child, she is abandoned by her stepmother. Meanwhile, Duan Ce sends people to search for her, but Liu Wanying, a scheming neighbor from the same village, seizes the opportunity to impersonate Ruan Tangmian and becomes the general’s wife. Ruan Tangmian is sold into a military camp by her stepmother and becomes the wet nurse for a young noble son. By fate, the three—Duan Ce, Liu Wanying, and Ruan Tangmian—cross paths. Consumed by jealousy, Liu Wanying attempts to harm Ruan Tangmian. In a critical moment, Duan Ce discovers the plot and intervenes, successfully resolving the crisis.
