Synopsis

Xu Liangsheng, a Southeast Asian underworld kingpin, is reborn in the 1960s as the good-for-nothing Second Son Xu. Faced with his impoverished family, he uses a mysterious system to exchange for supplies and improves their life by gathering herbs and hunting game. He fights off local thugs, leads the village to mine coal, build irrigation canals and plant drought-resistant crops. He processes toxic dioscorea bulbifera into edible provisions and opens a coal briquette factory to bring the village its first collective dividend. Once despised by all, he grows into a county-level production model. Surviving mine collapses, water disputes and sabotage, he finally guards the precious family warmth he never had in his past life.
