Synopsis
Chloe Miller and her mother Victoria Sterling were torn apart when Chloe was a child, after Victoria escaped an abusive captor and Chloe was abandoned as dead. Years later, Chloe survives on her own, caring for a mute grandmother and enduring poverty, bullying, and disability, while Victoria becomes a powerful but traumatized woman who never truly stops searching for her daughter. When Chloe enters the Sterling household as a tutor, mother and daughter repeatedly miss each other through misunderstandings, false accusations, and Maya's stolen identity. Victoria finally realizes the truth through childhood memories, the handmade pouch, scars, and Bunny Milk Candy, but Chloe, deeply hurt by years of rejection, refuses to forgive easily. The story becomes a painful reckoning between a mother who loved too late and a daughter who had to grow up without being protected.
