Synopsis

One night, Wang Guifen is on her way home and passes through the reed marsh, where she accidentally catches her daughter-in-law Li Qing secretly meeting her lover, Liang Hongshen. Furious, Wang Guifen plans to tell her son. However, fearing their affair will be exposed, Li Qing and Liang Hongshen cut out Wang Guifen's tongue and throw her into the river. Five years later, Wang Guifen, who was thrown into the river, miraculously survives, but because she has lost her tongue, she cannot speak. For the past five years, she has been searching for her son, Zhou Chen. By chance, she finally locates him.
