Heartbroken, Yang Miaoyun leaves the Ji household. At an auction, Ji Yunfan tries to curry favor with Guan Tingting by bidding recklessly (a practice known as "dian tiandeng" in Chinese, meaning outbidding others unconditionally to win an item). Yang Miaoyun, however, keeps matching his bids without backing down. Enraged by the soaring price, Ji Yunfan loses his temper and even pulls out a gun to threaten Yang Miaoyun. Just as a crisis is about to erupt, Yang Miaoyun’s three older brothers arrive at the auction house and rescue her. After returning home, Yang Miaoyun reunites with Xu Shixun, her childhood sweetheart. Meanwhile, Yang Zhengkai (likely Yang Miaoyun’s relative) uncovers Ji Yunfan’s crimes, such as embezzling military funds. As Yang Miaoyun and Xu Shixun spend more time together, their relationship quickly deepens, and they finally tie the knot.
