Lin Dong was originally an ordinary citizen. However, he was wrongly accused while delivering food. Facing the double pressure of paying compensation and betrothal gifts, he couldn't bear it and desired funds. Unexpectedly, he was saved by his grandfather, Lin Daifu, who taught him how to cultivate an extremely powerful spiritual seed. After Lin Dong painstakingly grew the spiritual seed, he found it was just a sunflower from Plants vs. Zombies, which could spit out sunlight. When Lin Dong tried to swallow it, he was seen by Empress Qianyu. Mistaking him for a senior master, she took him as her mentor. By chance, Lin Dong helped the empress repel her enemy, Taoist He.
