Synopsis
Entrepreneur Liu Qiang returned to his hometown, Liujia Village, to visit relatives, coincidentally encountering a situation where the village watermelons were facing poor sales. At the request of the melon farmers, Liu Qiang used his own channels to shift the sales of Liujia Village’s watermelons from domestic to export markets. He also personally subsidized 0.3 yuan per kilogram, offering the farmers a purchase price of 1.5 yuan per kilogram. Unaware of the truth, the melon farmers, persuaded by Lin Weiwei, believed Liu Qiang was profiting 0.5 yuan per kilogram from them. They stormed into the Liu family home and injured Liu Qiang’s father and wife. Eventually, the watermelon buyer, Smith, revealed the truth about Liu Qiang’s efforts to help the farmers. Heartbroken, Liu Qiang refused to assist the farmers with watermelon sales any further. Upon learning the truth, the farmers were filled with deep remorse.
