Synopsis

Zhou Deshun, a traditional pickling craftsman, was ousted by his wife and business partner for refusing to abandon handmade techniques. With only a jar of aged brine, he opened a small pickle shop and quickly earned a fine reputation for authentic craftsmanship.Meanwhile, his former partners’ factory collapsed from shoddy production. In desperation, they stole recipes and sold counterfeits, but their fraud was exposed. One fled, while the other was reduced to dishwashing to pay off debts.Zhou gained provincial intangible cultural heritage recognition and national master craftsman status. He founded a museum and recruited disciples, preserving the century-old craft.
