Dubhe Corp's founder, Jacob Linton, stepped away from the spotlight to care for his deaf daughter, Melody Linton, while his wife, Pamela Stone, served as the company's CEO. After taking Melody abroad for treatment and achieving a breakthrough in her condition, Jacob returns home. The company's vice president, Randy Shaw, is sent to pick them up. Hoping to impress Jacob, Randy purchases an expensive cochlear implant as a gift.
